The estimations of the value of fiscal multipliers are an issue strongly debated by macroeconomic literature. Given the goal to reduce the debt/GDP ratio, this article shows the linkage between this ratio and the value of fiscal multipliers, emphasising that the composition of the recent Italian fiscal measures also matters.

Some indicators of performance of the Italian civil justice system are presented and discussed. Data for 2016, show how in the Southern courts the length of proceedings is notably higher than in the North, because of the backlog that weighs on courts. A performance indicator (clearance rate), however, does not show a divide between North and South. Furthermore, courts performance is neither related to shortages in judges organigramme, nor to litigation rates.
